What if your offer is not what you like/want. How do you continue the
negotiation to ask for a higher offer? Do you then just ask straight up
this is the hourly/salary range I’m look for for?

I need more specifics to give you an answer. Remember, a negotiation is
something where they don’t have to pay you what you want. If you are
looking for an amount slightly higher, they try my “Easiest Way to
Negotiate a Higher Salary” video. If there is large difference (whatever
that means to you), it may mean the two of you don’t see eye to eye on
compensation. Then it’s up to you to make a choice about how flexible you
might be. Sorry YouTube limits the length of the response

Excellent video as always I have now thankfully moved on to this stage of
your videos in that I am happy to say I just received an offer partly
thanks to your videos and advice Thank You Thank You Thank You Jeff. I am
now onto watch your next video in that the offer is a little below what I
am looking for but definitely in the ball park enough to accept. But I am
going to watch your next too see if I can get something a little better.
Thanks, Chris

Chris, I am happy to hear that you are another “happy graduate” of my
videos. I’m glad they contributed to you finding a new position. You did
the hard work; I just steered you through the process so that you
understood the rules better. Job hunting doesn’t have to be hard or
painful. It’s just that people think that having the skills to do a job
means you know how to find a job. It doesn’t. It just meand you can get in
the arena with the gladiator. Good luck!
