Athletes and salary negotiation have to have a different approach. In sports, there is a winner-take-all. I win. You lose. Negotiation is like sports in that you are looking for the way to win. In sports, they won’t walk off the oval. They will fight to defeat the other team. In negotiating, they do have the ability and willingness to walk away and take the offer off the table. You need to be able to use emotions and language to keep them engaged and give them ways that they feel and believe that changing their offer is worth it to them. On the other hand, YOU need to be aware of what they can do or not do to make you walk away from the negotiating table. Watch my playlist about salary negotiation. Join me in JobSearch.Community.
