Right now it’s easy and inexpensive to improve or build your employer brand. So ,right now, firms are laying off. Firms are hiring. That’s the way it always is. And when offers are extended, are you’re going to be a place that basically translates into, ‘we’re gonna give you two choices– leave it or take it,’ or are you going to say to people, ‘you know, I want to help. I’ve got limitations, I can do a touch better. I may not be able to hit your number. Can you be a little flexible and meet us at some point that’s a little bit different than your goals?’
Talk to them like a human being and sell the opportunity, sell the job, don’t crush them. If you crush them, you never get their heart. You get their work but never get their spirit.
