People spend too much time trying to be clever and recruiters don’t care about it. Some are turned off by it. What do they care about?
What Recruiters Know That You Don’t: They Love People Who Stand Out
One thing that recruiters know that you don’t is that being clever, witty, having gorgeous resumes, doesn’t do crap for them. All they care about at the time they’re reviewing your resume and LinkedIn profile is can you do my job? Beyond that, it’s a turnoff.
Now what you do in person is different. But for the purpose of the resume and the LinkedIn profile, keep it simple. Highlight your successes. Talk about how you had an impact on an organization or project, a team, how you got results, and quantify it. Everything else is BS. There’s a lot more at my website, TheBigGameHunter.us.
