The 2 Big Reasons Employees Fail

When I dissect the reason why almost all employees fail, it comes down to two reasons.

If you’re involved with hiring and your people are failing, I find that there are two major reasons why that happens. The first, you don’t really know how to evaluate and assess the people that you’re hiring. That’s a big one. The second one is you misrepresented the position and/or the work environment that they’re going to be performing in. Both really lie on you; it doesn’t lie on the employee.
If they’re not motivated, whose fault is that? Yours. Your environment doesn’t support them, or you misrepresented it to them.
I can go point by point but the fact is, in almost all cases, the problem isn’t the employee. Get better at hiring, and be clean about the environment that they’re going to work in.
