Should I Apply to Jobs Through My LinkedIn Profile or My Resume?
Use personalized connection requests when reaching out to potential hiring managers or people you don’t know. They should be polite, professional, slightly personal. Ideally, you should have an all-star level LinkedIn profile setup to increase the chances of getting accepted. That’s because people will check it out before accepting the connection request.
It might say something like, “Hi! I see we have some connections in common. I’d like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn. Thanks and best regards.” And then you put your name there. After they accept it, wait a day or two after being connected to send a direct message pitching yourself as a job hunter. It’s really that simple.
