How to Find Email Addresses for Informational Interviews and Resume Follow Up

How to Find Email Addresses for Informational Interviews and Resume Follow Up | JobSearchTV.com

Sometimes, you need to follow up on a resume submission or connect with someone you don’t know for informational interviews. This tool makes it easy.

6 Ways You Know It’s Time to Change Jobs

I saw a tool mentioned in an email and it actually works very well. If you go to mailscoop.io, there’s a tool there. It takes you to a site cultivatedculture where there’s a coach named Austin Belcak has a site there; he’s got some nice material here. Mailscoop is one of the applications he has. And what it does is, it finds email addresses of people.

Now, it’s office emails, not personal emails. But the idea is if you’re doing informational interviews, you want to be able to find someone and their email address and not always contact them through a place like LinkedIn where you may not be connected with them and LinkedIn starts viewing you as a spammer and blocking your ability to message people if you keep trying to do it through their site. So the way around that is a service like Mailscoop.

Now, I did a test with two people I know in the restaurant business. One is no longer in the field, anymore and he closed his restaurant pre-pandemic. So I decided to enter his name and the name of the restaurants of the company’s website, in mailscoop and of course, it returned a message that said, could not find the domain,  domain is not receiving is not giving responses, etc. Perfect response.

Then another friend of mine who’s retired but maintains an address in another place and I entered his name and the domain for the restaurant he was chef at. And lo and behold, it turned it up. I’m sure at larger firms, it’s going to be even better. And it’s free.

It’s a nice way of trying to circumvent and get through to people by email as part of informational interviewing, and other forms of networking that you might want to engage in.
