Land the Job By Understanding the Employer’s Perspective
Have you ever felt like giving up on your job search? I’m sorry to say you’re not alone. There are many people who do. That’s because rejection and frustration are common in your job search, and in career success. But by staying persistent and motivated, you’ll get there. Here, I’m going to share several tips on how to keep going when the job hunt gets tough, so you can land the job that you want. I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. People hire me for no BS job search advice and coaching globally, because I do make the process so much easier for people.
Now, let me just start by saying that many people give up after being rejected one time. But success is going to come to those of us who keep going, even when we’re being rejected lots of times, believing in yourself, and taking a different approach can lead to great opportunities. So whether you’re starting out or an experienced person, it’s important to shift your mindset by getting guidance from people who’ve already achieved what you want and then from there, building relationships with them, because they’ve already walked this path. and can provide you with insights and support to help you transition effectively .
Reaching out to strangers, not just simply people that you know. Maybe it’s people that you know, who introduce you to strangers–It may seem hard, but it’s an important part of the process– To get insights, avoid mistakes, get advice from people who’ve already done what you want to do, who’ve gotten to where you want to get to so you can learn from their experiences.
Why Was 1 Person Interviewed and Not the Other?
Reach out to professionals who’ve made similar career transitions, worked at your ideal firm, who’ve gotten the job that you want to get and talk to them and get advice fromthem. Speaking directly with them is going to help you get ideas, and ideas for strategies that you may not come up with on your own. Networking with people who’ve walked this kind of path can help you overcome some of the challenges and navigate the search processes more effectively.
And lastly, I’ll just simply say, keep talking to people. Keep talking to people and not give up. Persistence is essential when you’re job hunting, especially in down markets because giving up isn’t a strategy for you. Giving up is surrender. And that’s not going to get you to where you want to be.
