Recruiters Are Not Your Friends
Your personal brand has a direct impact on your career success in today’s world. I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. People hire me for no BS job search advice, and career coaching
globally, because I made job search and so many things much easier for people.
Now, obviously, you need to back up your brand with competence. But if no one knows about you, you are invisible in an ocean of other talented people. That’s why I want to discuss developing a strong personal brand, and why it’s so important for career success these days.
So the first one is, your personal brand is your public reputation. It’s what people think of when they hear your name. It’s built on things like your skills and values and personality and how you present yourself. A strong brand makes you stand out in a positive way. A weak brand leaves you invisible. Number two, in the modern job market, you’re not just competing against other candidates but against their brands and reputations, too. A weak or non-existent brand won’t make you memorable when employers are evaluating potential hires.
Three. There are some who point out that candidates with strong brands are 16% more likely to get a job offer or an interview. Branding gives you an edge over other equally qualified applicants. Number four, a compelling brand draws opportunities to you. Instead of you chasing jobs, it makes recruiters seek you out proactively for roles. And number five, consistently working on your brand leads to faster promotions and higher salaries over the course of your career. Invest time in it like any other skill.
Put effort into showcasing your best self online and offline. A distinctive brand will make you stand out so you reach your career goals faster.
