Bad Tactics to Avoid Layoffs: Do Not Use These

Bad Tactics to Avoid Layoffs: Do Not Use These

A former partner of mine said, “Desperate people do desperate things.” These are things not to do.

  1. Ask for a meeting with your boss and cry about how you can’t afford to lose your job
  2. Do not get pregnant to avoid being laid off
  3. Do not file a lawsuit just to avoid being laid off
  4. Do not request information about the company’s policies about sexual harassment or discrimination of any sort just to avoid being laid off (if you are being victimized sue the bum and the firm).
  5. Do not make a false claim to obtain disability
  6. Do not meet with HR and claim that everyone’s out to get you (they will be after the meeting).
