This one opens the floodgates for recruiters to step right in and steal them.
One way you lose your best people, is you have managers and leaders who claim credit for their work. They strut themselves around and basically pontificate how it was their idea and their suggestions for execution that this person basically just implemented.
As you know, it doesn’t always work that way. Sometimes it does, but most of the time it doesn’t.
The best managers basically allow their people to claim credit for their work, and they don’t try and step on them and crush them like cockroaches. So you lose your best people when they feel like they’re not really appreciated and someone else is claiming credit for their work so they’re not able to move up.
