One thing recruiters know that many of you don’t is that your employer’s brand matters. It’s not just your abilities and your experience that’s important. But you’re an easier sell when you come from a firm that has a reputation, that has a brand that impresses. You get in the door more often, companies have a favorable predisposition to someone who works for a major firm that’s well known in its industry, that’s got great press behind it, versus three guys in a garage that no one’s ever heard of. So your resume may read pretty similarly but to them, it’s different. To their client. It’s different. That’s why it’s different to them.
