When you start thinking of your effort as being “too much,” it may be because you’re at the breaking point or you are aware that the effort you are putting in is not sustainable for as long as is needed to do it.

Increasing your effort is great. It is like a muscle that gets stronger with exercise. However, like with exercise, you need rest days, too, in order to allow your body to regroup.

Same thing is true with you when you decree it as being too much.

Give yourself a less strenuous day for recovery before continuing the climb up the mountain.
