I'm Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. I'm the head coach for Someone asked me a great question that translates into, "I'm on my third interview later this week. I'm meeting the VP for the second time. He's the ultimate hiring manager. Should I bring up money?"

Let me ask you a question. If you brought up money, how do you think they'll respond?

I think what you will unintentionally do is convey the impression of being desperate. of being anxious, of REALLY wanting the job. Unfortunately, what that will do, is take away your leverage because they will think they have you "in the bag." That's not the way you want to message it. You always want to appear like the girl on the date who is interested up to a point but wants more of a commitment from the other person before she conveys her interest.

Stay a little bit aloof. Express interest but don't necessarily go, "So, what do you think about money? Huh? Come on. You can tell me!" That doesn't work for you. All it will do is hurt you along the way.
