How to Get More Networking Meetings Using ChatGPT

Whenever you use ChatGPT to save time in a job search, the results that you get from it can’t be used as the final perfect results. I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. People hire me for no BS job search advice and career coaching globally, because I make the process much easier for people.

You never want to immediately take the results of chats up to and copy and paste them right into your resume. Even though it’s really smart, it has no way of knowing every little detail of your career. That’s something only you know. As a result, you always want to make sure that you’re vetting results for accuracy and optimal answer.

Now, what I want you to do is take a job description and your resume and you want to give it this prompt–tailor my resume to this job description for a (fill in the blank) role at (such and such company). We know the title, so we want to copy that in. And we also know the company we’re applying for. So you want to copy that in as well. Then skip a few lines. And right below the prompt, copy the entire job description. Copy and paste your resume into chatGPT and then hit run or enter. Let it think and it’ll kick out results.

It’s Easier to Network Than You Think!

Now we asked chatGPT to tailor a resume to a job description. What we mean is how can we rewrite our current experience from the resume in a way that’s going to make sense for this specific role. That’s going to be things like getting in specific keywords from the job description and using them in the resume or in the achievement section,  in the professional summary area if you’re using one and in a skills section. But never give chatGPT your contact information because you don’t want to give it personal information that can come back to bite you.

If you use a professional summary, it’ll rewrite it using the keywords from the job description. If you use the achievements in your resume, it will be identical or almost identical to what you’ve already written. It can be a great starting place and will give you a good idea of how you can rewrite your current achievements and resume for the role. But like I said at the beginning, it has to be checked for accuracy. Otherwise, you can wind up feeling embarrassed during an interview.
