I thought I would do a video talking with you about branding and spending $3 a day to brand yourself.
Now, think of it from the perspective of you've got a career, you've got a business and you were looking to build mindshare. You want people to know about you and, yes, you're creating videos, you're putting out information you're sending out resumes. But what can you do in order to put yourself in the position of being found? What can you do to attract people to you?
Now, I've encouraged people to write for LinkedIn. I encourage people to share video. I encourage people to do podcasts, Lord knows, all of these are terrific. But if you're out in the woods, and you're creating content, and no one knows that you're doing it, no one's finding you. How can they connect with you? How can they learn about?
Yeah, $3 a day is the cost of the Facebook campaign daily. You can do more, you can do $3, the minimum is $3. But if you're s job hunter and you want to be identified by people who work for a particular firm, you may want to draw people to an article that you've written. You may want to draw people to a website where you have all your content aggregated that you later share on LinkedIn, there's a lot of different ways to play this.
If you've got a small business, you wouldn't want to draw people to your website. You may draw them there with a campaign on Facebook. When all is said and done, the important thing in modern times, is to think long term.
Yes, you want a job NOW. You want to do sales NOW. But if no one knows you, you're not going to do either. $3 a day on a 31 day a month. That's $93. If you have $93 that you can invest . . . it's a worthwhile approach, which, over the course of time, is going to support you in moving forward professionally.
