4 Steps to Getting Better Results With Your Resume

Should you list major accomplishments in your LinkedIn profile or simply a description of your roles?

The answer is accomplishments AND the description. Think in terms of role, responsibilities, accomplishments if you’re in a field where technology is utilized, and that’s an important factor, the technology utilized.

You know, for example in technology,  “I was part of a team that did such-and-such. What does that really tell anyone? And even if you’re going through the technology, it doesn’t tell them where your part of it was. It doesn’t tell them what the impact of your work was. And if you think about all the millions of people in technology, the differentiator is what your impact is.

After all, just starting off with the description of the project, there’s a difference between the twenty thousand dollar project, and two hundred million dollar project, right? There’s a difference between someone who helped an organization make twenty thousand dollars or two hundred million dollars based upon the impact of their work.

So, think of it from the employer’s perspective and what’s going to make you stand out from all the others who say “I did this and I did that. That’s really where your leverage is going to be in getting the interview and since that’s really what you want here is to draw people to you and make them go “huh,” and stand out in a good way. You should do it as I said I’m telling you
