There are two types of currency.
The first type of currency is your performance. You can trade upon your performance and do well but that only has you and your effort driving your recognition.
The second one, even more important than performance is relationship currency.
Who knows you is even more important than what you know and what you do . . . as long as you don’t betray that trust.
If you doubt me, remember how, for years, the old boys club was the basis for many men’s success. They were from the same school with the same regimental striped tie.
Today, we call it relationship currency and your relationships are remarkably important to your success.
When you keep your head down and working hard, you are forgetting about your relationships and risk being taken for granted.
