I worked for 2 different recruiting companies. Sleaziest industry ever. Every single thing we said was a lie. It was all about the scam. Even went to a conference where they taught us exactly how to manipulate our clients. It was completely par for the course. I would never recommend any of my friends and family to use a recruiter.
I was successful in the field for more than 40 years without going sleazy. When I was junior, I was encouraged to lie to people but left rather than do that. Eventually, recruiters learn the lesson that if you lie and the institutional client finds out, yu are finished doing recruiting for them. After all, they have to deal with the impact of the lie.
