No BS Career Advice: June 26, 2024

Last week, we had houseguests in last minute from the DC area. Although I had quite a bit on my calendar, we made time for the Chihuly exhibit at The Biltmore. There is a video at the link that shows you parts of the exhibit but doesn’t allow you to feel what you experience at the exhibit.
It reminds me that there is so much more to interviewing than giving the right answers to interview questions. Many people may do that. What makes a hiring manager choose one person over another? Why should they choose you?
Chihuly made me feel astonished, delighted and amazed. When you leave an interview, how do you make the interviewers feel? How do they make you feel? You may not think it’s important but it is. After all, they have choices and many of you will, too. How you feel will make a difference to you and will to them, too.
