Loser. Failure. Bum. Reject. Incompetent. | No BS Coaching Advice

Jeff Altman reminds you of how to respond when you hear those words between your ears.
Do any of these words sound familiar to you– loser. Failure. Bum. Incompetent. You know, reject. Even if no one said these words to you, are these words or feelings that kind of infect your system from time to time? You’re not a loser. You’re not a bum. You are not any of these other sorts of things. You may struggle at times and you may make mistakes.
But here’s a fact. You’re not a loser. You’re not incompetent. You’re not a bum. You’re not a failure. You’re not a reject.
You’re someone who makes mistakes and other people, particularly yourself, are very harsh on you.
Harshness isn’t what you need of times like this. You kind of needed the glory of sympathy for yourself, compassion for yourself, instead of beating yourself up.
Yeah, learn from the mistake, but that doesn’t require that you torture yourself in order to do it.
