I was recently fired from a good job, and experiencing very bad depression and anxiety. I’m single, so I am the sole earner. I’ve lost a good friend over it even, because I just don’t want to do anything. Leaving the house at all has been very difficult. I can’t enjoy the holidays. I went to bed last night at 8, I didn’t get up until 4 the next afternoon. I realize this isn’t healthy, and it’s getting in the way of an effective

Kent, thanks for surfacing. You have to get out and talk to people to get advice about how to land that next job. Staying home isn’t working, is it? You’ve got to start by connecting with people but not oversharing. Remember, they don’t care as much as you do.

@Jeff Altman thank you Jeff. The thing is that I am in a medium desert city and work in government. Networking just doesnt work in public sector. Im terrified i will end lifetime unemployed and have to shoot myself
