No. Never. However, my problem is that many of the businesses I worked for and at are no longer in business. In a past interview this caused (AstroTurf in my pov) problems, so I have gone out of my way to use
LinkedIn to keep in touch with former coworkers that can vouch for me. Same with my old high school, it’s been bulldozed for over 10 years.
How would you handle that?

You’ve never lied?
You’ve never lied?
Let’s tell the truth and stay on dead end minimum wage jobs…..
Like I said, too many lies are easily exposable. Particularly bout dates and wages. Companies cooperate with one another. You get fired. Your choice.
@Jeff Altman rubbish. You mean to tell me that HR etc are going to have the resources to investigate every employee?😂🤣

@Mark L Most firms of any size will have a firm they use to background check and, yes, they do it for every employee. Small companies MAY do a pre-employment background check and someone won’t. Respectfully, how long have you worked in search? I have the experience of listening to HR people tell me what they do.
@Jeff Altman respectfully old chap, I have known many people who have utilized whatever is needed to get what they wanted. Never known any to go wrong.
You are making hugely assumptive statements that “HR will catch everyone”. Sometimes it may be true, sometimes not. Just like the Cops do not always (despite their hype) catch the bad guys…..
To answer you question I have been on both sides of the fence, be it as an employee or employer. I have also been involved in landlord / tenant checks. Nothing more than a box checking exercise. Might even be called a shakedown

@Mark L And, as I said in the video, people getting called in that first Friday and handed a box with their possessions and sent home to explain to their wives and husbands that they were fired, to explain to their kids, they were fired for lying. You may think its ok and a risk worth taking. That’s your prerogative. I am asked for an opinion and stick with mine. As for my use of “respectfully,” just so you know, it is a signal that I am not trying to be an a-hole flamer, troll, critic, etc.
