One way that people are stolen by recruiters is that other firms are more flexible than yours about where they work. I know there’s a lot of pressure right now about return to office but the fact of the matter is for some people, they’ve got an hour commute each way. Yes, they did it before, but they’ve gotten used to something else.
Are they not doing the work? Are they not doing what you need them to do?
“Oh, I want to be able to watch them.” No, you don’t. What you want to be doing is getting the results of their work and not be standing over them every second of the day.
Haven’t you learned how to manage remote workforces during the last two and a half years? Of course, you have. This is about control and inconvenience for them, and you’re going to lose through people to others when recruiters dangle the carrot of a fully remote position or a more hybrid role than what you offer.
