Before you go to a second interview, third interview or final interview, it is important to do research before it.
Hi, I'm Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter, I want to talk with you again about second interview, third interview, final interview preparation. I've covered a lot in previous videos but this one is just designed to remind you about some of the research that you need to do before you go back. Now, what kind of research am I talking about? I know you know to look up the person that you're going to be meeting with, or the people that you're going to be meeting with on LinkedIn, get a sense of their background, how long they've been with the firm. What was their background previously? Where did they go to school? Is there anything revealing in their LinkedIn profile about them on Twitter, on Facebook, any place online, that's going to give you a clue about them? I also want you to do some work, to just look at the company and news about them. And the reason for doing this is one of the things that firms look for when they hire someone is, is the person interested in what we're doing? So, how do you demonstrate that? Check on latest news. Check about product offerings. See if some of the people you met with previously have done anything online to talk about what they've done. And you know, from there, it's your attitude. Again, social media is going to give you information. You can find out about what's new. But when firms hire, they want to hire someone who really seems interested, has a personality. Now for introverts, that "has a personality" does tend to be more extroverted. And you can use your analytical capabilities to demonstrate that you've really looked into things and are able to talk intelligently about what you've learned. You don't have to be demonstrative and wild and what have you. You need to be intelligent in how you present your knowledge. Again, you're competing with other people and in competing, even if you're told "you're the only one who's coming back," you're competing with the notion that there's someone better out there. Don't fall the trap into the trap of coasting into this round, whether it's the second, the third or the final. Get out there and sell yourself to it this way they know you're interested, and they want to choose you. Hope you found this helpful. I'm Jeff Altman. My website is TheBigGameHunter.us.
