The Big Career Management Lessons from The Shawshank Redemption

What are your key strengths and how have you leveraged them so far? I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. People hire me for no BS career advice and coaching globally. That can involve job search, hiring more effectively, managing and leading better and a whole host of things related to you and your career. They hire me because I make things easier for them. I can do that for you, too.

So this is a question I tend to think of as being an individual contributor question, rather than something for someone in management, or leadership. Maybe atJeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter | NoBSJobSearchAdvice.com a manager level but beyond that, you’re not going to get asked this.

So this is one sample answer to it. My key strengths include adaptability, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. Throughout my career, I’ve leveraged these strengths to overcome challenges and achieve my professional goals. Adaptability has been crucial in my career because it’s allowed me to quickly adjust to new work environments, projects, and team dynamics. This has enabled me to effectively navigate and succeed in a variety of situations.

Critical thinking has been a driving force behind my ability to analyze complex information, identify key issues, and develop effective solutions. And this has been particularly valuable in problem-solving situations and in leading teams to success.

Finally, my effective communication skills have enabled me to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients and effectively convey complex information in a clear, concise manner, which has been essential in building a successful career, because it’s allowed me to create partnerships, and achieve results through collaboration.

Over all my key strengths, and the ability to leverage them have been instrumental in my career success so far, and I’m confident they’ll continue to serve you well in the future.

Again, this is an individual contributor question, maybe a manager question. Pull out parts of this. I just want to remind you, the words are important. But it’s not just what you say that’s going to matter. It’s how you say it, making it seem like you’re thinking of your answer, and not just regurgitating it as I just did. By the way, this was an answer from ChatGPT. Hope you found that helpful. Hope you think it was interesting that that’s what ChatGPT thought,
