Someone wrote, “Your salary research should also account for your unique skills, qualifications, and value that you bring to the job. You may have certifications, degrees, awards, or projects that make you stand out from the average candidate. You may also have specialized knowledge, experience, or skills that are in high demand or hard to find. You can use online tools, such as skill value calculators, to quantify your skills and value and add them to your salary range.”

Negotiate Your Job Offer Like a Pro

I replied, “I can’t stress enough that by the time they want to extend an offer, they want YOU. They don’t want to keep interviewing or choose their second choice. They want YOU. Think about to little asides they made during interviews that suggested they saw you as the solution to their problem to use them as leverage in your negotiation with them. Do not give away your power unless you feel desperate and must have this job. What you’ve done up until this point is impress them enough to want to hire you. At this point, your biggest leverage is having another offer you are willing to accept and that you are prepared to walk away.”
