Employer Branding: Why Does It Matter?
By Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter
Why does employer branding matter to you?
Statistics show that companies that have a strong employer brand attract better quality people and more of the kind of people they want than those that don’t. Why is this all important? Well, even in tough times, you want to hire the right people and you don’t want to have turnover. From an employee perspective, from a candidate perspective, your brand makes a big difference in how they view you and whether or not they’re going to join.
If you don’t have a brand strategy, if you don’t have an image in the market, you’re invisible. Basically, you’re going to hire ‘slobs for jobs,’ and it makes it a lot harder, even during recessionary times when you want to attract and retain people.
