How Do You Reach Out to People Who Review Online Applications?
As I’m recording this, this is the day after Memorial Day in the United States, a long weekend for people. And what I found in my experience doing search is that no one wanted to hear from you this morning. So if you made the mistake of doing one of those “Hi, what’s going on?” calls or emails first thing on Tuesday morning, well, that was a mistake.
I would not suggest trying to reach out to them four more times today. Maybe toward the end of the day, send a quick message to them and say, “I’m sorry if I pushed a little too hard early in the morning, but I’m really interested in the opportunity. I’m hoping to hear back from you about next steps in the process, or about an offer, or with a decision, whatever it is, but make amends.
