"Does posting your resume on a job board work?"

Here's my answer.

Yes!  It works.  Everything works in job hunting.  That is the thing that people lose sight of.

You can send the stupid resume, a ridiculous resume to employer and most will turn it down; one will bite.  Posting your resume on a job board.  It works.  Being contacted by a recruiter, contacting recruiters… Everything works in job search!  It just doesn't work well enough, fast enough, or all the time.

That's the frustration most job hunters have.  They want to be on that great interview and be hired and have it happen in 10 minutes.  After what you say but you want a lot more E is in the process and you all want to know. "The single answer."  That is going to guarantee that you are hired.  There is no answer that question.

The best ways often involve introductions by people who you know who are known and trusted by a hiring manager or business owner.  Even that doesn't guarantee you. It just gets you a foot in the door and then from there you have to deliver on what the hiring manager or owner has been told.

That's still on you.  That's just from an introduction to "a blind date."  It's like a blind date, isn't it?.  Someone tells you something about the person that you are going to be.  "Own! They are wonderful.  Nicest person. My best friend.  Honest. Good looking."  That's all that introduction does.

It's all on you and you have to be using a strategy that has multiple components to it.  You have to have your resume on job boards.  You have to respond to ants.  When you are contacted by people based upon the ad that you responded to, you actually have to respond to them and talk to them and sell yourself.  You have to learn how to interview well.  There are a whole lot of things that you need to do in order to get a job.  Most of you take the lazy approach wanting someone like me to answer every question proactively so that you can just arrive and the seasonal part and the heavens will open up and all will be good and wonderful!

Like I said, it doesn't work that way.

You are going to need to work and, if you are smart, you're going to need someone to help you with your work in finding a job.  My site, JobSearchCoachingHQ.com, is like having me whisper in your year.. Great content.  Terrific advice.  It is all designed to help you find the position.

And, there are lots of situations that are impossible to anticipate.  I could've created the site with thousands of pieces of content that no one would ever go through.  What you can do at the site is is ask me questions. We schedule a few minutes to talk or you message me through the site, I respond and, thus, you have the advantage who has the experience from almost 40 years of executive search work under his belt, who has killed more than a thousand positions has coached that many more and more in finding work.  Look at my reviews on the site from the people who voluntarily wrote about how I have contributed to them.

JobSearchCoachingHQ.com isn't a lazy way, but it is a shortcut because it will teach you a lot of things that you don't know about job hunting. There are videos, podcasts, books and articles… All my books and guides to job hunting. Are there.  There are discounts on additional services, whether it is having your resume critiqued or your LinkedIn profile critiqued. There are discounts on the services if you joint.

Again, the site is JobSearchCoachingHQ.com
