Change May Take Time

Sometimes the finished version is hidden in the clay or stone and takes time to uncover. Can you be patient with yourself?

Using a story told by Malcolm Gladwell in “Revisionist History” called, “Hallelujah,” I tell a more concise version of the episode, of a song originally released by Elvis Costello and how it changed over time as Costello found the song within the song and how Leonard Cohen released the song, “Hallelujah” and people discovered it and how it changed.
There is a lot to take from this episode that applies to making change. We have been conditioned to believe the genius arrives instantly like a meteor yet, in fact, some of it like the Elvis Costello song, “Deportee,” or the Leonard Cohen song took time to uncover.
Can you be patient with yourself?
