Finding Remote Work. Being a Digital Nomad
Here are seven remote jobs that you should try to avoid because typically they offer a low pay, poor work life balance and limited career growth. I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. People hire me for no BS coaching and career advice globally, because I make things easier for people. That can involve job
search, hiring more effectively, managing and leading better, dealing with different workplace issues and I translate situations so you don’t have to deal with them.
Job Number one, data entry clerk, because it can be monotonous and tedious and generally it’s low paying. You sit in front of the computer for long hours, which can feel boring, stressful and unhealthy because they keep demanding even more of you.
Number two, an online survey taker. Some companies may offer payment for online surveys, but the pay is often minimal, and it can be repetitive and feel boring and unfulfilling.
Number three, customer service rep. Working in customer service can be challenging, especially if the job requires dealing with irate customers. Remote customer service reps may be required to work long hours and the pay may not be commensurate with the demands of the job.
Number four freelance writer. It’s a competitive field, the payment may not be consistent, or enough even to sustain the living. The job may require working long hours with tight deadlines, which leads to more stress.
Next, a virtual assistant. Virtual assistant jobs may offer flexible work hours, the pay may not be commensurate with the amount of work required. Thus, it may also be demanding, requiring that you handle various tasks simultaneously and for different people.
Six online tutor. Online tutoring can feel fulfilling but the pay may not be sufficient to make a living. It can require working long hours and dealing with “interesting” students. I think you know what I mean by interesting.
Lastly, data analysts. It can be challenging and require strong analytical skills. However remote data analysts may be required to work long hours and deal with tight deadlines. Again, that’s stressful and demanding.
To sum up, it’s essential to consider various factors such as money, and work life balance and career growth opportunities before accepting remote job. Some remote jobs may seem attractive due to their flexibility. However, they may not be for everyone. I’m just simply telling you research remote jobs thoroughly and consider your personal goals and interests before making any choices.
