5 Tips for Landing Your Ideal Job

By Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter

Recovering from a Toxic Workplace Environment

An application and cover letter are only part of what goes into a job search. And given how difficult it is to negotiate the job market at the moment, having a game plan for your job hunt is crucial. If you’re vying for some desirable positions, the competition is fierce.

How do I choose which position to pursue?

Consider your ideal career for a moment before you begin your search. or at the very minimum, a position that plays to your talents. Consider: What comes easily to you? Next, use pertinent terms to locate roles that will put you on the right course to achieving your goals rather than just randomly surfing job boards.

Hint: Concentrate on the particular role you want to find out which keywords would be most effective for your search. Use this method to spend less time sorting through irrelevant listings.

Where should I start?

You can email your resume from your phone using job search apps. because you won’t need to spend all day staring at your laptop in order to get your next interview.

Glassdoor

You can look through a huge number of open vacancies on Glassdoor AND  discover the salary ranges for different industries. E ensuring you are paid fairly is a smart place to start.

LinkedIn

Job hunters can use the LinkedIn app to apply for  positions and  establish contacts with recruiters and hiring managers for possible employment.

Resumes?

Personalize your resume for the position you’re looking for. That implies that before submitting, you might need to make a few tweaks or revisions to make the fit obvious. Ask Yourself : Is the position you want to apply for truly relevant to the job?

What else can I do to simplify the job search?

Position yourself so that employers can find you. Modify  your LinkedIn profile to reflect that you are available for work, etc. Additionally, start using social media professionally. Make your LinkedIn profile keyword rich so that if someone is looking for someone with your background, they can find you.

Remember, when posting job openings, employers frequently get inundated with resumes. Employers often hire people who aren’t actively looking for work but might accept a new position for the proper reason. (A salary increase, better work) . If you are approached by a firm, they may be willing to pay more to hire you.Is

Is networking still important?

Yes!  In the job market, who you know still matters. Inform your mentors, family, friends and former colleagues about your search. in addition to maintaining your social media and LinkedIn accounts. You never know who can put you in touch with your new position.
