10 Signs Your Interview Will Go Nowhere | JobSearchTV.com
These are 10 signals interviewers give people that signal that your interview will not result in any more.
Here are 10 signs that your interview is going nowhere, that nothing else is going to happen. This is it with this interview.
So the first thing is, the interview was cut short. You were scheduled for 45 minutes; it’s a 20 minute interview. It’s not going anywhere. The second way is you had a schedule of five people, you only saw three. That’s not going anywhere. They cut it short in a different way. The third is, they didn’t really ask a lot about your skills or experience or spent a lot of time going over and over and over and over the same thing with you. I don’t think that’s going anywhere because they didn’t ask they may have already found someone but they felt obligated to continue on with you. And if they’re going over the same points again and again, you didn’t answer something in a way that they found understandable.
Number four. The interviewer really didn’t make much of an effort or any effort to sell you on their company and didn’t really share much information about the position. Five, they didn’t smile, and maybe they seemed to have low energy, like they just weren’t present. Next, you feel no connection with the interviewer like there are a wall. It’s probably not going anywhere.
They seem to hurry throughout the interview like they were trying to get rid of you. There’s no mention of next steps. The interviewer gives you unsolicited career advice, which is kind of like a kiss on the cheek that says ‘Good luck to you.’ And that’s number 10., b By the way– they say good luck at the end of the interview as they escort you out, or they bring things to a conclusion. Whenever they say good luck, you’re never talking to him again. That’s it.
