Hi Jeff,
Love your channel.
How important is your current and/or past job title during a job search? I recall your video about equity in a well known company brand, but how does that compare to your job titles? Specifically for a project manager vs a senior project manager?
Thanks for liking my channel. I hope you subscribe and give individual videos a thumbs up. To answer your question, it depends from company to company . . . and whether someone can backup the claim that they are what that title suggests. For some companies, “a senior” may mean the size and scope of the work is larger or it can mean the person has longevity doing the work. I have seen people claim management titles where it is very clear that their work is at a staff level with no management responsibility. Thus, title becomes less important than the ability to back up the claim and how your experience matches up with a particular job.
