Someone asked me a question, because they were kind of panicked. You know, they had a final interview, and it was short. What does that mean?

Now, there’s no simple way I can answer that, because I don’t really have enough information except that the interview is short. So here are the possibilities. Number one, you stepped on. You committed a faux pas, and you stepped on someone else and you were immediately rejected. That’s certainly a possibility.

It could also mean that this is a formality and they just want to confirm that you didn’t behave like a sociopath. It could also mean that they’ve decided on someone else and they gave you the courtesy of not canceling last minute and they really want to hire another person and not you. Thus, they met you, they talked to you, they sent you on your way– things along those lines.

As you’ve noticed, there any number of options that exist, and not all of them are good, and the probability is not good for you to be honest. Because you may have said something or behaved badly in the reception, or they observed something in your manner that annoyed them or bothered them that’s causing them to say no. And I also want to point out, it could also mean someone just wanted to give you the once over before extending an offer. No way to know. And I’m sorry, I can’t be more specific.
