Slow Down. Speed Up. Which One Is It? | Career Angles

“Take it easy.”

“I need it yesterday.”

“I need a job that has work-life balance.”

“I have an early meeting tomorrow. I have to be out the door by 6 AM.”

The whipsaw we are asked to experience is crazy making. We hurry up, employers don’t get our best work. They get our fastest work.

When we “take it easy,” employers don’t get our best work, either.

What behavior gives your best work? Is it rushing? Is it “relaxing into it?” Is it someplace in the middle.

For me it depends on the day as to what the best answers. I’m more of an adrenaline junkie than anything. I love that this pace BUT there are days where I just want to go slow. Not too many of them. But there are those days.

How does it work or not work for you?
