Should I confirm an interview

Should I Confirm an Interview? |

A simple question with a No BS answer from me.

Second Interview Questions: 3 Tips to Calm Your Fears

Should I confirm an interview? I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter, a career and leadership coach. And I worked in recruiting for many, many years before transitioning into coaching where I now work with job hunters to help them land new roles, managers to help them hire better, support people with their management, leadership, and dealing with individual workplace issues.

This is going to be a relatively short video. And the idea behind it is should you? After all, most of the time they don’t. But I think you should.

In this day of ghosting, it’s a very nice touch if the day before an interview, you send a message in whatever medium, they communicated with to you– via phone, email, text, whatever– and simply say, “Confirming our appointment for 2 PM tomorrow. Looking forward to speaking with you.”

Very simple. Very direct and to the point. And it reminds them so you’re not kept waiting, and allows you to hear from them if they have a last minute scheduling issue. So, yes, confirm, but there’s no obligation to.
