Recession-Proofing Your Career: Don’t Over-Emphasize the Strategic
Recession-proofing your career also involves not just skills, but what’s going on between your ears. Are you afraid you’re going to be cut? Well, that doesn’t make you a screw-up. Or worse. If you are let go, it reflects on the company and its business, not on you.
So I want to remind you to keep working on your mind. Keep working on the messages that keep going in there. Continue to do or step up your game and do world-class work. And make sure that people notice it, not just simply at your company, but elsewhere.
Remember, part of landing your next role if that’s necessary, is what your image is. How you market yourself. Same thing internally. Don’t hold back. Be great.
