Recession-Proofing Your Career: Recommendations

Recession-proofing your career can also involve buying time in case you need to find something else.

Remember, your employer has no loyalty to you. And you’re going to need staying power if there are economically tough times out there to be able to last to find the next good job.

Now, one of the ways you can do that is developing a gig on the side that’s proximate to what you do. I started off coaching. When I was still doing recruiting. I was giving people advice and helping them with a job search. Didn’t conflict with my clients. I made a point of that. Maybe you’re an accountant, you can do bookkeeping. There are lots of things that are approximate to what you may do. And developing that side hustle can wind up giving you financial staying power that can help you last if things are tough.
