,In most organizations, you need a public façade for how you present yourself.
This doesn’t mean you should be inauthentic.
It means that how you present yourself will need to be “buttoned up.”
After all, no one wants to be the cause of hurting someone or lashing out inappropriately.
At the same time, it’s important to have relationships with people where you can be raw.
To me, being wrong is being completely vulnerable with someone you trust to say the things that you might not feel comfortable saying at work but needs to get to the light of day to sort through them.
It needs to be a safe relationship where neither of you (or none of you if it’s a group) needs to worry about betrayal.
Sometimes, the voices in your head need to be aired to sort through the ideas that are living there.
Maybe it is a wife, husband, or partner. Maybe it’s a former colleague. Maybe it’s just a very good friend.
Learning with whom you can be wrong will make a difference in your confidence and much more.
