I think most people think of channels in the context of TV. There are TV channels that we watch. But what is a channel?

Channels is a way that something is distributed or communicated.

That is what happens with TV, with Netflix, and all the others.

When you think of your career and becoming known, what channels do you use?

What other channels are available to you that you could utilize to distribute information or communicate information about you and your career?

Yes, there is social media. There is much more that you haven’t thought of yet.

The time for planning this, the time for working on this is way before you might need to look for job so that your brand and reputation are in place before you need them.

You are responsible for becoming known and creating your own branding.

If you give it up to your employer, they will make decisions for you that, eventually will leave you dissatisfied (at least that’s the way it is for more than 95% of all people I’ve ever run into).

My channels include social media, podcasting, YouTube, books, Amazon, Roku, being interviewed, speaking and more.

I’m sure there’s something else you could be doing that doesn’t take a lot of time that you could do to promote yourself.
