As I spoke with someone yesterday who interrupted my questions to say things to prove that he had been wronged, I could only imagine him at work doing much the same thing.

Often, fewer words are better. They convey information that someone can absorb without being distracted.

Talking too much, over talking, allows someone to find something to criticize and disagree with.

Do you want someone to reject you and your ideas because you didn’t know when to shut up?

Do you want someone to reject you and your ideas because all you are doing is vomiting on them?

Often, what is really going on is that the “offended party” is replaying some earlier trauma without concern for the person who is listening.

What they are really saying is, “can you believe that they did this to me? I can’t. Don’t you agree that I have been wronged?”

Over and over and over and over and over again.

That isn’t the way to win any discussion, is it?
