I have read more than 3/4 of a million resumes . . . at least that I could quantify and these 3 words are so egregious!

Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter, the head coach for, a site with curated information you can watch, listen to or read that'll help you find work more quickly.

If you buy the lifetime membership, what you'll get in return is an hour of coaching with me which could be done is two 30 minutes sessions. The price of the lifetime coaching, frankly, is the price of an hour of coaching. So you're getting the website for free, or an hour of coaching for free, however you want to look at it. One or the other is free. Okay, so that's and the lifetime membership there.

Three words never use. I'll explain why. The first word, visionary. What have you ever done that was so visionary? What have you ever done that hasn't been done 1000 times before by other people. Seriously, what vision did you have that allowed you to see into the future and know this is the way it should be done? The answer is nothing. And you know it and we know it. Okay, So, cut the crap with that, term, okay? Next one. This one is less egregious like the third one I'm going to offer you-- successful. It's used as an adverb to destroy our adjective success no and you'll tell me whether it's an adjective or an adverb. I think it's an adjective

Successful executive. Successful developer. So, what? Define what it is that makes you a successful executive, or makes you a successful developer, rather than announcing I am a successful this or that.

Third word. Number three! Third word-- results. I get results. What results have you gotten, folks? Tell us about that. Don't just announce that you got results. Some of the results people get are so trivial. It's so inconsequential. No one would ever care. But when you put that word, you're puffing yourself up. And most people see it that way. So, define what it is that you've done. Define what it is that you know. And just be clear about it. The rest is all BS. And this is a No BS show.

So hope you found this helpful. I'm Jeff Altman. If you're interested in my coaching you, reach out to me through LinkedIn at Once we're connected message, that you're interested in coaching. We'll set up time for a free discovery call.
