If You’ll Be Meeting a Senior Leader for a Final Interview

There are three circumstances under which an executive may hear about you in the future:
- You have done something terrific and someone is calling them to praise you. This is a good thing.
- You have done something wrong and someone is calling them to complain about you. This is not a good thing and something they hate.
- It’s review time! They have to pay you more. Whether this is good or bad depends on how frequently #1 or #2 occur.
Managers, department heads, and executives HATE if #2 occurs and hope for #1 and, besides, they have to pay you from their budget. Make them confident that you will be a #1 and not a #2.
