Recession-proofing your career requires that the basics of what you’re supposed to know are up to speed and, AND you’re aware of all the trends and knowledgeable about them too.
What this does is it starts to lay a base for you so if you need to talk to other individuals at different organizations, you’re able to carry your weight. And I mean that. So often, when people work at one organization for any period of time, they get rusty on the secondary and tertiary things that are important to organizations, because they’re asked to focus on certain elements of their expertise. Now you have to make sure the basics are all ready and you’re aware of the trends and knowledgeable about them in detail, even if that means taking an online course.
