If You Want People to Bond With You . . .

If You Want People to Bond With You . . .

I loved this little story Mark Anthony Dyson shared on LinkedIn. It has a great lesson.

By Mark Anthony Dyson

When I visit my sons, this little guy follows me around.

When I say follow me around, I mean he’s everywhere when I sit down to eat, and when I go to sleep, he gets in bed with my wife and me. But we don’t have a dog of our own.

This is my son‘s dog, Mateo. Always playful, affectionate, cuddly, and curious.

They have a big house for him to run around in.

If you want people to listen, you must do the right things to bond with them. That is, according to their definition, not yours.

I’ve said this before: Networking and yeast are similar. The way networking operates is identical to how a little yeast works through a batch of dough: Both require time, a little massaging, and consistency.

Watch dogs play in the yard with other dogs. It will make more sense if it never had before.
