How to Get More Interviews: Follow Up and Make Your Case #shorts

I know you know you should follow up but too many people do a stupid follow up.

How to Get More Interviews: Be Different

Another way to get more interviews– follow up. Don’t be a pest. And when you have to leave a message for someone, tell them why you’re qualified. Don’t do it because, “Hi, I wanted to make sure you got my resume,” because you know they got the resume. Are you sending in an automated fashion? Do you think the system inhaled it and swallowed it and made it disappear? Of course not.

What you want to be doing is giving them a reason why they should look for the resume, because you’re demonstrating that you’re qualified for the role as you understand it to be. So make it succinct. No one wants to listen to this two minute diatribe, and you’ll get many more results and many more interviews.
