gonna help you find work more quickly in addition I do one-on-one coaching with
people to help you perform at a high level both doing your job search and
once you're on your new job and beyond.. Someone former the question to me
that I've since found is used by Amazon as part of their interviewing I think
it's a wonderful question that goes . . . the full version of the question is "how do you
find the time to say inspired acquire new knowledge and innovate in your work
great question and you almost have to break it apart and it's a different
components and it really starts off with the theater of interviewing so I want to
encourage you to start off by putting a twinkle in your eyes and a smile on your
face and just the light as you answer the question because this is so unusual
that a firm really cares about a person. So when you answer the question, start off
with "it is so much easier to stay inspire what I love my work and I really
do enjoy it I just think that limitations is to where I can go with my
organization. So, if I allow that to continue it eventually will wear me
down. So part of the reason I'm looking for work is I want to stay feeling this
way I want to still have the juice about my work and I just think over time doing
the same things over and over again it's gonna leave me limited and I also know
that I have to do things for myself so how do I admit you make the time well I
make the time. And part of the way I make the times I i do classes. You know there's
plenty of stuff online that I can learn from I talk with people I get together
with people in a variety of different venues, not just simply
to tell jokes and be funny but, you know, for people who are really
exciting for me to connect with see my mobility here it's not simply about
reciting a bunch of facts we'll go from a master's degree and I find my best to
degree very interesting." No, if you are going on that try to be disrespectful
but it's about the energy that you carry yourself with and the delight on your
face is you answer the question about you know what keeps you going what
floats your boat, what gets a competitive juices going and
innovating your work well part of that is taking time and taking time and space
to let our ideas ruminate yeah that's how it works for me it may work
differently for you but I'm trying to give you a couple of ideas of
ways that you can approach this now the big thing again is not just what you say
but your acting, your your enthusiasm as you talk because you want to demonstrate
that this is exciting for you that they're actually caring about how you
stay inspired and I want to be clear inspiration is an internal quality
motivation is what they have to do make you do your job as an engaged employee
you want to be inspired you want to have something that you really connect with
that's meaningful to you that you bring into your work that really floats your
boat. So I'm Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. I
