A pretty card and a fun note put a big smile on my face. What can you do?
Today’s show came about as a result of a lovely card. I received from a dear friend of mine. I’ve known her for a long time and, since retiring, what 
she’s been doing is making cards . . . Greeting cards . . . Handmade hand painted greeting cards.
She sent a card to me that had a lovely exterior, hand painted flowers and I opened it up wondering what she was going to say on the inside and there it was! “Happy whatever day!” What a big happy smile I had on my face. And I’ll just simply say, what do you do to put a smile on people’s faces, are you so involved in your own stuff that you never take time to enjoy and give joy.
I know I struggle with this because in my work as a coach I take on a lot of the burdens of the people that I coach. When I work before that, I took on the burdens of the people who were struggling to find work. That’s me. It’s been part of my makeup. But I’m reminded by this simple card to smile.
I remember doing laughing yoga with her when we worked together some years ago, and we would just sit together and just spontaneously break into laughter and how much I enjoyed that. I’m just going to encourage you folks. There’s a time and a place for laughter in every day. Every single day. It doesn’t have to be so freaking serious, damn it. Go enjoy yourself. Do something that puts a smile on someone else’s face. It can be a card.
It could be a post on Facebook. It can be anything that comes to your mind. Someone you love . . . Show them your love. Show them that you care. It’s really that simple
